Takeuchi

Takeuchi is a well-known compact construction equipment manufacturer specializing in track loaders, skid steers, excavators (including zero-swing excavators and conventional excavators), track loaders, wheel loaders, and associated attachments. Takeuchi is a Japanese company founded in 1963, and the three words that summarize their company policies are creation, challenge, and cooperation.

Their impact on the construction industry began in the 1970s when someone approached the president of Takeuchi with a need for a mechanized approach to digging home foundations that didn’t involve pickaxes and shovels. Takeuchi met the challenge, leading to the development of the first 360 degree slew compact excavator in 1971. Their compact excavators would be involved in the destruction of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

The compact track loader came about in the 1980s during a visit to the US by company founder and president Takeuchi. It was brought to when Takeuchi’s attention was drawn to the fact that skid steer loaders didn’t work in wet, muddy conditions, so he headed back to Japan to work on a solution. The result was the tracked loader.

Takeuchi remains a major player in the compact construction equipment market, with equipment known for quality, durability, and functionality.
